Pruning recurrants-before and after

Frosty days don’t offer much opportunity for gardening but on sunny January days it’s nice to get out. One job that can be done on such days is pruning soft fruit such as redcurrants. Here pruning involves cutting back most of last year’s growth [the paler ends of the branches] to a bud.
