The morning visit is to the recently installed Archimedes Screw producing hydroelectricity from the Ettrick Water.
Lunch is in the Waterwheel Cafe (or bring your own).
The afternoon visit, led by the garden’s manager, Robbie Johnstone, is round the fully restored walled garden with produce going to the cafe and for public sale and a selection of flowering and house plants. There are several glasshouses, vegetable and soft fruit plots and a large orchard.
